Terms of Use

These terms describe the deal between you and Tessera when you use the product. Tessera is in active beta. We're building in the open, shipping fast, and we want you to know exactly what that means.

Beta status

Tessera is a beta product. That means:

  • Features may change, move, or be removed as we learn what works.
  • We do not guarantee uptime. The app may go down for maintenance or unexpected reasons.
  • Your data is real and we treat it seriously, but you should still keep your own copies of anything critical.
  • The product is free during beta. We may introduce paid tiers later and will give you clear notice before that happens.

Your account

You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Keep your email address current so we can reach you.

Your content

You own the product models, research, and content you create in Tessera. We don't claim ownership of your work. We process and store it solely to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You grant us a limited license to host, display, and process your content for the purpose of operating the product. This license ends when you delete your data or close your account.

Acceptable use

Don't:

  • Use Tessera to violate any law, infringe on anyone's rights, or harm other users.
  • Attempt to break, probe, or overload the service, or access it through automated means that degrade other users' experience.
  • Use the service to generate content that violates OpenAI or Anthropic's usage policies (since generation runs through their APIs).
  • Reverse-engineer the product, resell access, or pretend to be someone you're not.

We may suspend accounts that violate these rules. We'll explain why when we can.

AI-generated content

Tessera uses AI (OpenAI and Anthropic's APIs) to generate, review, and refine parts of your product model. AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or reflect biases in the training data. You are responsible for reviewing and validating anything you rely on for real decisions.

Service changes and termination

We may change, pause, or discontinue parts of the service at any time during beta. We'll give reasonable notice when we can. You can stop using Tessera and delete your account at any time by emailing hey@tessera.app.

Disclaimers

Tessera is provided “as is” during beta. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tessera and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service during beta is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months, which during beta is zero.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced to active users by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
